The Book With All The Answers | A Fantasy Fiction
She turned each page with extreme curiosity, she knew that all the answer to her doubts and reason for her existence was there. Now it's about thousands of kilometres she had travelled to find this book, she couldn't wait anymore to open the door to all the answers.
The book was made of some kind of leather, which made a certain stretching sound on the wooden table. The pages were too old but the paper was of fine quality so there was no chance of the paper being torn off. As her hand moved through each word, her pupils are enlarging with some kind of light, maybe it's the enlightenment.
Then there was a sound of something dropping, all of a sudden she became aware of the surrounding. The lengthy library, wooden table, yellowish incandescent lamp and the complete silence. Now she half passed the book, still, there ain't no decrease in her curiosity. Each answer to her questions opened the door to another world of chaos.
Now she could hear the sound of that old librarian's steps. He is walking towards her, it's been late. She came here in the dusk, while he was closing the library. She pleaded to the librarian for helping her to read the book. Hours passed, still, she couldn't complete reading it. At first, she tried to buy it for an amount that even near to the price if the whole library. The old man was not selling the book, so she couldn't bargain or do anything to have it.
The only thing he accepted was she could read it tomorrow when the library opens, she can't be patient anymore. She knew that waiting for it even for an hour could make her feel like decades. Finally, they came up to the agreement for staying at the library for three hours.
Three hours have already passed, she couldn't deal with the excitement she had. She was seeing her whole life through the book, It didn't have a name it's just The Book, maybe the book of all the other books.
"It's time to leave, you have already made me three hours late." That old man's sound echoed in the whole library.
She looked at it him, she just took her purse and put some real cash on the table. It was a lot, she didn't look at that old man's face. She knew that after she turns the last page she will become inevitable, the one who knows all the answers.
"No dear, you can't buy time anymore with money." This time his voice is a little bit soft, it isn't because of money.
"Ahh... I finished the second last chapter, now there is only one more. Just give me a few more minutes, everything will be okay" she was talking so fast that she couldn't even control her mouth.
She turned the page, now there's the title for the last chapter, it said "THE REALITY".
But there wasn't anything written on both of the pages. She was going to turn the next page, but she couldn't. The old man grabbed the book from the table. Now it's in his hands.
" No more time is allowed, my dear. Come tomorrow." Even when he was smiling while saying that, it was made an impact of a strong command. Now he's walking towards the shelves, and he put that book in the exact place.
She stayed on the chair for a few minutes with an empty mind. Nothing came in her mind, she was even ready to give everything she had for the last chapter. She finally understood the fact that it isn't possible today, she stood up and walked towards the door.
The old man's locking the door, half of the door is open she got out through that door. She still wanted to talk something to him, but his attitude was something hard to make an argument with. As she looked at him, after locking the door he walked towards the only road in front of the library. There wasn't much neighbourhood.
"When will you come back tomorrow to open the library.?" She asked.
"Very early my dear, earlier than you think." Then the librarian walked away into the darkness.
She doesn't have anywhere to go in this middle of the night. She looked around, it's completely black. Then she decided to stay in the car until he comes back. The car was parked just in front of the library, as it was too far for people to find.
She could see the moon which was just on top of the library building, it was an old architecture. The front was of some kind of triangle shape which converged to the point where the moon was. She tried to sleep but she couldn't, she was awake for most of part of the night, looking at the moon and the library door below that.
It's the sound of the birds chirping, the darkness is faded away now. The sunlight is reflecting on her cheeks, she slightly opened the eyes. It was a smile that came in her face, now the boring night is passed, it's the time for having complete knowledge. She raised her head and looked at the library, then she was stunned for a minute. There is no library in front of her. She got outside and looked around, there isn't even a single building which she can even relate to the library.
She couldn't believe anything, she was now in a never-ending lawn. Her face was full of confusion, she laid down on the grass, looking at the sun. Then in the next minute, all the chaos in her face faded away and a peaceful smile came. All the answer was there.
