The Long Night | Crime & Punishment
The Head Light couldn't reach any far, it was one of the darkest days in recent. Albino was the night duty officer today. Usually, he only has to attend calls from some street fight or something which could be easily dealt with the help of the cops that are in street patroling.
It's about to reach half an hour after the call, he was in total chaos what he just heard on the phone. He couldn't find any cop reach near this house in this midnight. That shaking voice of that woman still in his mind.
"Help me
He's gonna eat me"
The next thing he heard was a scream, finally, it was near the end of the road. Told the driver to stop and he got out of the car. He stepped down to the pavement, his hands reached near his belt, it's there, he confirmed.
"I'll come through the backside, you wait in the front". He told that the other cop who was driving—flashed into the night. His conscience still couldn't find a possible cause for the reason for that call.
He's now near the backside of the house, he could see some light on the little window of the bathroom. He could hear water splashing. He ran into the backside door, it was locked. He tried to give a little bit hard push, it opened.
It was the storeroom for the kitchen he walked through the short space with calm steps. He knew that something is going to happen, but not happened yet. He walked as fast as he can without making a noise. He passed the kitchen and entered the room where a was light was on. He could hear the water splashing sound from the bathroom. He hid near side of the bathroom and had a peek inside.
There was no one he could see, he jumped into the bathroom aiming with his revolver, there is nothing, suddenly there is a sound of gun clicking from the back. He looked back and pointed his gun.
"Hello John..." that face was familiar for him. Both of them looked at the eyes and stood still for a minute.
"What ?? What are you doing here?", he asked with a bit of anger.
"Oh..., So you remember me."
"What do you want? why this fake call?" he asked.
"No...
No... I'm the one who will be asking questions this time. Answer me why did you leave me behind?"
The other cop was at the front and waiting for some command. There there was the sound for four bullet shots.
